Aiburo (bachelor) Bhat (rice) is a Bengali ritual which takes place on the day before the wedding, where the Bride-to-be is treated to an elaborate Bengali feast of rice, fish, meat, sweets and other delicacies. This is said to be her last meal as a spinster. A similar ritual is observed at the groom’s place where he takes his last meal as a bachelor.

Macher Muro - Fried fish head which is a mandatory dish in Aiburobhat platter

Chingri malai curry - Made from prawns (chingri) and coconut milk (malai) and flavoured with spices.

Murgir Jhol - Bengali Chicken Curry

Sorshe Ilish - Hilsa fish cooked in mustard gravy

Payesh - Bengali style Rice Pudding

Rajbhog - Ball shaped dumplings made with cottage cheese and saffron
